Colombo-based womenswear label, Shay Int., was founded in 2013 by Shayani Alwis, who holds a First-Class degree in Fashion Design from the University of Northumbria, U.K. (in affiliation with the Academy of Design, Colombo). Shayani’s passion and talent were recognized early on when she won the “Own Brand” award at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Colombo, followed by her participation in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Kiev, Ukraine.

Shay Int. began with a small collection of bohemian-inspired summer dresses, sold exclusively through a boutique in the heart of Colombo. The overwhelming response from customers inspired Shayani to grow her vision into a label that reflects a modern, eclectic attitude — combining relaxed femininity, effortless style, and a refined sensibility. Today, Shay Int. is known for collections that embody personality, freedom, and fun, while staying true to international style standards.
